DIY: Mini Dress for Little Girls

My niece, Arianne, is 4-month-old and her hair is so thin. We have to dress her up to make her look like a girl. So I decided to make a dress for her.

This dress requires little fabric and it's easy to do. Aside from the fact that it's cute, it's comfy.

Materials:

100% floral cotton fabric
Ponytail garter

Directions:

1. Cut a semi-circle on the fabric, the radius of your preference.
Figure 2: Semi-circle cut

2. Sew edges allowing a space to insert the ponytail garter. (#1 on Figure 2)

3. Sew a garter space (where you'll insert garter to make a ruffle look) 3 inches below the top edge. (#2 on Figure 2)

4. Sew the open edges together. (#3 on Figure 2)

5. Do an edging on the bottom edge. (#4 on Figure 2)

6. For the strap, take 6 strips of excess fabric. Braid 3 strips per strap and attach on the top edge.

There you have your very own mini dress!
